The Awami Leage led 14-party Alliance is satisfied with the clarification given by its ally Workers’ Party of Bangladesh chief Rashed Khan Menon over his remarks on the last general election, says the coalition’s spokesperson Mohammad Nasim.
“In his response to the letter seeking explanation, Menon claimed that he was quoted out of context. He stands on same ground of the alliance over the national election,”Mohammad Nasim told a media call on Monday (Oct 28) after a meeting of the alliance at the capital’s Dhanmondi.
Menon, who was elected a lawmaker from the coalition, has apologised for the confusion, said Nasim, who sits on the Awami League’s policymaking Presidium.
On Oct 19, Menon told during his party’s council in Barishal that the people were not able to vote in the general election held on Dec 30 last year, which he now says was quoted out of context.
