Awami League (AL) is going to hold an extended meeting on June 23 when Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to give ‘special message’ on next general election.
The party usually calls an extended meeting when it wants to give special messages to its leaders and activists.
AL Presidium Member Dr Abdur Razzak said, “An extending meeting is called when the party deems it’s time to take a big decision.”
He, however, did not make comment on the agenda.
The next general election is just around the corner and this meeting might give policy directives to the party leaders to take preparation for the polls, say insiders.
AL Deputy Office Secretary Biplob Barua told Bangla Tribune said the decision has been taken today.
The party will also inaugurate its central offices on Bangabandhu Avenue on the same day marking its anniversary, Barua said.
