The ruling Awami League is not creating any obstacle to its arch-rival BNP's way to participate in the 11th parliamentary election, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said.
Speaking to media after a joint meeting at the party office in the city on Tuesday, Quader said, “We have no headache whether BNP would join the next election or not.”
Claiming BNP is active with the actors of 1/11, the Road Transport and Bridges Minister said, “We know everything (about their moves) and no conspiracy will succeed as countrymen will foil it (conspiracy).”
Asked on BNP’s boycotting the 10th parliamentary election, “They (BNP) had stayed away from the polls ignoring everything.
“If they (BNP) keep away from election, we can’t let the constitutional process fail and this is the reality,” he said.
Blaming BNP for showing political bankruptcy, Quader said, “Instead of visiting the election areas, BNP leaders go on supplicating abroad and complaining to foreign diplomats.”
