Senior AL leaders spend election year Eid at constituencies

Awami League leadersIf everything goes according to plan, the 11th national election will be held at the end of the year. With the polls in mind, AL leaders are spending time in their constituencies to carry out essential public relations.
Many of them spent the whole of Ramadan in their respective areas though some also decided to use the Eid holidays to renew connections and solidify their local political positions.
Consequently, many of the leading leaders did not go to the Gonobhaban to exchange Eid greetings with the PM.
AL party general secretary, Obaidul Quader spent Eid in his hometown of Companyganj in Noakhali.
Industries minister and member of the AL advisory council, Amir Hossain Amu, spent Eid in his hometown Jhalokathi. Commerce minister and another member of the advisory council, Tofail Ahmed, was in his constituency in Bhola. Presidium member, Kazi Zafrullah, went to Faridpur to observe Eid; he has been in his area for the last ten days.
Joint secretary of AL, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, was in his area of Mohammadpur in Dhaka, while party joint general secretary, Dipu Moni was in Chandpur.
In addition, another joint general secretary, Abdur Rahman, went to his area in Faridpur and organizational secretary, Abu Sayeed al Mahmud, Shopon spent Eid in his electorate in Joypurhaat.
Other organizational secretaries, Enamul Huq Shahim, spent time in his area while barrister Mohibul Hassan was in his area in Chittagong.
Commenting on AL leaders’ spending Eid holidays in respective areas, AL presidium member, Dr Abdur Razzak, told Bangla Tribune: “this Eid, AL leaders attached more importance to forging ties in their own areas.”
That’s why many leaders were not present at the PM’s Gonobhaban Eid congregation.
However, he said that AL central leaders have started to come back to Dhaka from the second day of Eid.
