Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader speaks to the media after visiting the Mohakhali Bus Terminal in Dhaka on Saturday (Jun 1).The crisis in the ruling party’s student front Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) over its full-fledged committee will be resolved soon, says Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader.
“We are in constant communication with our leaders to be updated about the committee and about those agitated by it. I hope everything will be resolved soon," he told the media on Saturday (Jun 1) after visiting the Mohakhali Bus Terminal in Dhaka.
Quader, the road transport minister, said party Joint General Secretaries Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman, Organising Secretary BM Mozammel Haque, and leader AFM Bahauddin Nasim, have been tasked with forming the student wing's committee and resolve all internal conflicts.
On the BNP’s allegations that political motivations were behind jailing party chief Khaleda Zia, Quader said her release was totally the court’s concern,
“She has been jailed on charges filed during the caretaker regime. She has been convicted in line with the law of the land. The BNP will have to resort to a legal battle for her release. The government has nothing to do,” said the senior Awami League leader.
