Reciting a recent remark of Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, Quader has mocked the people who are travelling home during Eid vacation.
"His (Quader) comments are such a joke to the common people. Currently, the road transportation situation is so bad that it is taking at least 4 to 5 hours to reach Gazipur. And it became worse to reach the northern region of the country," Rizvi said at a media briefing on Saturday (Jun 1) at the party's Naya Paltan offices.
"People expected that Quader will stand beside the people during their distress after returning back taking treatment from Singapore. But he could not leave the perpetual nature of mocking people," said Rizvi.
"People prefer train journey rather on road which made huge schedule crisis on the first day Eid journey at Kamalapur Rail Station. Launch services also making delay. Besides, the bus and launch owners are charging extra money from the passengers which are making the journey of the home going people more suffering," added Rizvi.
Saying that Khaleda has been imprisoned unjustly, he added: "She (Khaleda) is spending her days at prison so miserably and the prime minister is executing her political vengeance over Khaleda Zia."
