Expressing solidarity with the Dhaka University students, who are on a hunger strike demanding a re-run of DUCSU polls, BNP leader Shamsuzzaman Dudu said the former DUCSU leaders will join them unless their demands are met.

“Unless the election is scrapped, former DUCSU leaders will take to the streets,” the former Chhatra Dal chief said on Thursday (Mar 14).

Urging the Dhaka University authorities to accept the students’ demands, Dudu said, “You can do simply do what you please. We will not accept it.”

Terming Dhaka University as a ‘place of dreams’, he said, “If necessary former DUCSU VP, GS and other student leaders will join the students on the street.”

In the Mar 11 polls, Nurul Haque Nur, one of the organisers of quota reform protests, won the top DUCSU post while Chhatra League’s Golam Rabbani became the General Secretary.
