BNP secretary general, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, has said that the candidates who have won with the ‘sheaf of paddy’ and ‘rising sun’ symbols in the recently concluded polls, will not take the oath.
"We have boycotted the elections so there is no reason to take the oath,” Fakhrul said on Thursday while talking to the media at BNP’s Gulshan office.
Calling the 11th national elections a ‘travesty’, the BNP secretary general said, “A treachery has been committed with the people and today we will give a memorandum to the election commissioner demanding re-election.”
