Accusing the current government of stealing the voting rights of millions, the leftist alliance has demanded cancellation of the election results and holding fresh polls under a neutral caretaker government.

The call was made by leader of the leftist alliance, Ruhin Hossain Prince, on Thursday (Jan 3), during a rally held in front of the National Press Club.

His other allegations include: filling ballot boxes on the night before election, partisan role of law enforcers, assault on leftist candidates and creating an atmosphere of terror.

Saying that the election was a failure, he commented, “The nation was forced to vote for boat while all opposition parties were driven out.”

“It’s been proved once more that a free, fair and acceptable election cannot be held under a ruling party.”
