FILE PHOTOThe HM Ershad-led Jatiya Party (JP) has decided to field candidates at 174 constituencies, which its Secretary General Mashiur Rahman Ranga said ‘to satisfy the activists’.
Of the seats, JP has given candidates at 29 constituencies under the Awami League-led Grand Alliance to contest the Dec 30 polls, which JP claimed ‘for the sake of the alliance’.
The AL, however, kept two out 29 seats ‘open’ for all of it allies.
Speaking to the media at the JP’s Banani office on Monday (Dec 10), Ranga said, “Open polls will not affect the JP and it will inspire the party activists.
“The JP, however, will lend its support to the alliance’s strong candidates,” he said.
