Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khana Menon has urged people from all walks of life to defeat the anti-liberation forces in the 11th Parliamentary Election slated for Dec 30.
“BNP allowed Jamaat-e-Islami to use its electoral symbol in the month of the 'Victory.' They (BNP) turned themselves into an anti-liberation force as much as the Jamaat,” Menon said on Monday (Dec 10).
Speaking at a programme on ‘Victory Day’ in the city, Menon said, ”BNP’s leader Tareque Rahman met with Pakistan’s intelligence ISI in London while Mirza Fakhrul held a meeting at Pakistan embassy in Dhaka.
“Party, which holds patriotism and spirit of Liberation war, can never hatch conspiracy (against the country) at the Pakistan embassy, and we have to defeat the anti-liberation forces in the month of Victory.
“BNP will surrender to the election like Pakistan’s (General AK Khan) Niazi did so in 1971,” said Menon, who is the president of Workers Party of Bangladesh.
