AL may share 65 to 70 seats with coalition partnersThe ruling Awami League says it will share something between 65 and 70 seats with its partners in 14-party Alliance it leads in the general election slated for Dec 30.
Speaking to the media after a meeting of its parliamentary nomination board, General Secretary Obaidul Quader also said that Bikalpa Dhara chief AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury-led Jukto Front will join their coalition.
On sharing seats with coalition partners, he said, “These matters will be settled soon. Some 65 to 70 seats will be given to the allies.”
Quader, however, said the number may vary depending on ‘winnable candidates’.
“Factors like the number of electable candidates from allies and the Awami League will be considered,” he said before adding the Jukto Front is yet to propose candidates.
He said that the Awami League will enter into the ‘equation of alliance’ if the BNP does so.
“The polls manifesto is at its final stage, which will be announced soon.”
