Mahbub TalikdarFourteen-party Alliance has demanded the resignation of election commissioner, Mahbub Talukdar. Spokesperson of the alliance and health minister, Mohammad Nasim said “For making an unconstitutional remark, Mahbub Talukdar should leave.”
The senior AL leader made the comment on Wednesday (Oct 17), after a meet of the Fourteen-party, held at the AL president’s Dhanmondi office.
“It’s unconstitutional to remain in a constitutional post and reveal confidential matters of the election commission.”
Referring to Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury, Nasim, said, “We know he has links with the killers of Bangabandhu and wanted to create division within the military.”
Zafrullah Chowdhury is one of the persons trying to foil the elections, the health minister commented.
“Barrister Mainul joined traitor Mostaq Ahmed, after the killing of Bangabandhu,” observed Nasim.
Talking about extending the alliance, Nasim said, “We can’t say at the moment; the prime minister’s decision will be final.”
