The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has waived all kinds of taxes on import of protection equipment in a bid to fight coronavirs.
“The government has waived import duty, regulatory duty, supplementary duty, value added tax (VAT), anticipatory tax and anticipatory income tax from 17 products regarding public interest,” an NBR notice said on Sunday (Mar 22).
“The waiver is valid till Jun 30 this year,” it added.
The national revenue body has, however, imposed two condition to avail the benefits.
“The waiver is applicable for the products approved by Directorate of Drug Administration and the directorate will also monitor and ensure the standard of the imported products,” the notice read.
