The government has locked down Gaibandha's Sadullapur Upazila after two America returnees there tested positive for COVID-19.

Sadullapur UNO Md Nobinewaz announced the lockdown on Sunday (Mar 22).

According to the UNO, the two infected people attended a wedding in the area.  Moreover, a majority of the guests at the wedding also went to vote in the Gaibandha-3 by-polls on Mar 21 due to which the virus is feared to spread fast in the area.

Previously on Mar 19, Gaibandha's Shibchar Upazila was put under lockdown in a move to cotrol the spread of the virus.

The fast spreading coronavirus has so far killed two and infected 27 in Bangladesh.
