BCL chief Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon speaking to the media on Tuesday (Mar 19) at the Dhaka University Madhur CanteenThe ruling party student front would have bagged all panels in the elections to the Dhaka University College Students’ Union and hall unions, if the polls were rigged, says Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) President Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon.
“The DUCSU polls were fair, otherwise Chhatra League would have won all panels,” Shovon told the media on Tuesady (Mar 19) at the Dhaka University Madhur Canteen.

“Many events unfolded in the polls but it was fair overall,” he said before adding that no election is anomaly free.
In response to allegations of widespread irregularities, the BCL chief said, “If such things happened for real, Chhatra League would have won all panels. But that was not the case, which essentially means the polls were fair.”
Shovon also said, “In previous DUCSU polls, bloodied conflicts used to unfold with people even getting killed.
“That kind of environment is long gone and we want the university’s environment to be peaceful.”
He added that they want the students to take their exams and classes, without any hindrance.
Shovon called the protesters to “look after the convenience of the students to preserve their rights.”
He urged them to consider the collective interest of the students instead of their own.
