The investigation report submission in the murder case of Xulhaz Mannan and his friend Mahbub Rabbi Tonoy has been deferred for the 34th time.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ziaur Rahman has fixed Apr 16 to file the probe report after the investigation officer failed to report it on Tuesday (Mar 19), Court Constable Mujibur Rahman told Bangla Tribune.
On Apr 25, 2016, Xulhaz, a LGBT activist and a local employee of USAID and his friend, a theatre activist, Mahbub Tonoy were hacked to death by miscreants at the former’s Kalabagan residence in the capital.
On the next day, Minhaz Mannan Emon, brother of Xulhas, lodged a murder case with Kalabagan police while sub-inspector of Kalabagan police Mohammad Shameem filed an arms case.
Detective Branch Inspector Bahauddin Faruqui is investigating the murder case while Inspector Nurul Afsar is probing the arms case.
