BFF official Kiron gets bail

COURTESYA court in Dhaka has granted bail to Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) women's wing chairman Mahfuza Akter Kiron in a case filed over making derogatory remarks against the prime minister.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan handed the order on Tuesday (Mar 19).
“The court has granted the bail for Tk 10,000 bond,” said Kiron’s counsel Liakat Hossain.
On Mar 16, Kiron, a FIFA council member, was sent to jail hour after she was arrested from city’s Dhanmondi.
Her arrest comes two days after a warrant was issued by a Dhaka court after a sports organises sued her.
On Mar 12, Abul Hasan Chowdhury Prince, a permanent member of Mohammedan Sporting Club and Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club as well as vice-president of Badda Jagoroni Club, filed the case accusing Kiron for making 'derogatory remarks against the prime minister.'
Meanwhile, the BFF has opened an inquiry into the allegations.
Its President Kazi Salahuddin has formed a three-strong probe panel led by BFF Senior Vice-President Adbus Salam Murshedy, which has been told to file a report as soon as possible to the executive committee.
