The High Court has allowed BNP chief Khaleda Zia to file bail petition for three cases.

The High Court bench comprising Judge AKM Asaduzzaman and Judge JBM Hasan has given the permission on Sunday (May 20).

Senior advocate Khondkar Mahbub Hossain and advocate Masud Rana made the plea before the court.

Khondkar Mahbub told the Bangla Tribune, “We sought court permission to allow us to file bail petition for three cases and the court accepted it. We will file the bail petition by 2pm today.”

Cases involving murder and setting fire to car were filed in Comilla while a defamation case was filed in Narail and the court instructed the defence lawyers to file a single bail petition.

Mahbub said the hearing might take place tomorrow in the same bench.
