Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained a man with Tk 80 million from the capital’s Motijheel area on Tuesday (Dec 25).
The arrest was made around 11am from City Center in Motijheel, said RAB Media Wing Spokesperson Mufti Mahmud Khan.
The arrestee has been identified as Ali Haider who RAB said is the managing director of an export-import company.
“Haider was held with Tk 80 million and some signed bank cheques worth Tk 10 million,” said Khan before adding, “The money was meant for spending during the polls campaign.”
A RAB official said that the company has been making transactions in billions for the last few months ahead of the election slated for Dec 30.
