The latest pledge lifts the country’s contribution to 226 million pounds since the crisis unfolded in August 2017.
British High Commissioner Robert Dickson and DFID Bangladesh chief Judith Herbertson made the announcement at a media briefing in Dhaka on Sunday (Sept 22).
The additional fund will help provide food, healthcare, water, sanitation, care and counselling for sexual violence survivors, and protection for vulnerable groups.
Over 20 million pounds of the fund will be made available to support the host community in Cox’s Bazar.

Most of whom fled Myanmar’s Rakhine after the military launched a brutal offensive targeting the mainly-Muslim ethnic minority.
Myanmar denies citizenship to the Rohingyas despite having lived in the country for generations and dubs them ‘Bangalis’ to imply that they are illegal immigrants from Bangladesh. State-sponsored discriminations against them stretch back decades.
The minority, which has often been the target of persecution, is one of the largest stateless populations in the world.
