Five JMB militants jailed for 2005 blasts

Representational imageA court in Dhaka has sentenced five members of banned outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) to 12 years rigorous imprisonment in a case filed over the series bomb blasts across Bangladesh in 2005.
Dhaka’s First Additional Metropolitan Sessions Court Judge Md Al Mamun passed the verdict on Sunday (Sept 22).
The convicts are Md Habibur Rahman, Md Musa, Abdullah Al Sohail, Md Abdur Rahman and Nurul Islam. Of them, Habibur and Musa are absconding.
The court also fined them Tk 30,000 each, failure to pay the fine will result additional six months in jail.
They were convicted in the case filed for the bombing in front of RAJUK Commercial Complex in Dhaka’s Khilkhet area during the nationwide bombing 15 years ago.
