Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, who recently underwent a successful by-pass surgery has been taken off the artificial breathing machines, said doctors.
“Quader’s endotracheal tube has been removed and the dosage of his sleeping pills is also being reduced gradually,” said Banganbandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Director Professor Abu Nasar Rizvi, who is coordinating his treatment.
“He spoke to me after the tubes were removed,” he added, says BSS citing a press release.
Quader, who serves as the ruling party’s general secretary was diagnosed with coronary artery blockages after he fell ill and was taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on Sunday (Mar 3) morning.
He was flown to Singapore’s Mount Elizabeth Hospital by an air ambulance on Mar 4 where he has been receiving treatment.
