Dhaka University students have boycotted classes over allegations of irregularities in the Dhaka University Central Student Union polls.

Although the student organisations had called for a strike, after the Mar 11 polls, they were not seen staging any demonstrations on campus on Tuesday (Mar 12).

The students have decided to boycott classes instead.

The university's Arts building was almost empty of both students and teachers.

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leaders and activists were seen protesting on campus after Nurul Haque Nur of Shadharan Chhatra Adhikar Shangrakkhan Parishad was elected as vice president (VP) of Dhaka University Students’ Union (DUCSU).
BCL leaders and activists have taken position in front of the vice chancellor’s residence since Tuesday morning.
Security measures have been strengthened on campus and vehicle movements have been restricted.
