It was the first instrument signed by the Bangladesh Foreign Minister since his assumption of the office, says a foreign ministry press release.
This is also the first time an agreement has been signed between Bangladesh and South Africa.
Bangladesh and South Africa enjoy cordial bilateral relations and maintain a common position in the major international issues.
Thousands of Bangladeshis are living and working in South Africa contributing to the economy of that country.
South Africa is the leading country in Africa in terms of Bangladesh export.
Both the countries are currently in discussion for concluding a number of other agreements in the areas of visa waiver, police cooperation, agriculture, forest and fisheries, basic education, scholarship and fellowship, training and governance, transport and trade.
