Police, RAB, BGB to be deployed in Barishal polls

Barishal City Corporation ElectionThe Election Commission will deploy RAB, police and Border Guard Bangladesh force to hold the Barishal election in free, fair and impartial manner.
Executive magistrates and about 3,000 government officers will also be engaged in polls duty, sources in the commission said.
Assistant Returning Officer Helal Uddin Khan said, “We have sent special instruction to law enforcing agencies to ensure safety and security of voters before and after the polls.”
The commission will deploy 15 platoon BGB force, 830 RAB and 30 petrol police teams and 10 striking forces team, he added.
30 mobile courts will operate in city’s 30 wards from Jul 28 to 31 and nine judiciary magistrates will conduct brief trial for poll related crime.
The commission has divided the centre into two groups – important and very important.
24 police will guard the very important centres while the number will be 22 for important ones with lethal and non-lethal weapons.
Police Assistant CommissionerNasir Uddin Mallick said, we will hand over the list of ‘very important’ and ‘important’ centres to the commission within a day or two.
