Govt official violates election conduct in Barishal

Barishal City CorporationA government official has allegedly breached the election code of conduct in Barishal City Corporation polls and has been served a show-cause notice to explain his behavior.
Regional Election Commission office issued the notice to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Principal Bhaskar Saha Friday and asked him to come up with proper reply within three working days.
When contacted, the principal Saturday said, “I will give reply through my attorney.”
The election commission sources said on Jul 18 Awami League candidate Serniabat Sadique Abdullah arranged a view-exchange programme with the college officials and employees where Bhaskar and hospital Director Bakir Hossain were present.
Assistant Returning Officer of Barishal City Corporation election Helal Uddin said, we received a formal complaint from BNP accusing that the government officials violating election conduct are taking part in Awami League polls campaign.
After scrutinizing the complaint, we issued the show cause notice to Bhaskar.
