Mahmudur attacked in Kushtia

Amar Desh acting Editor Mahmudur RahmanAmar Desh acting Editor Mahmudur Rahman has been attacked on the Kushtia court premises on Sunday as he was leaving after securing bail in a libel suit.
An adviser to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, Mahmudur travelled to the district town on Sunday over the 2017 case started by Yasir Arafat Tushar, the president of local Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) unit.
Witnesses said the BCL activist confined Mahmudur in a courtroom soon after he was granted bail.
At one point, when he tried to get into his car, the BCL activists hurled brickbats at his vehicle, forcing him to retreat to the chamber of a lawyer.
He was seen leaving the court premises in a bloodied state with police help after around four and a half hours of confinement.
