Rajshahi BNP leader held over crude bomb blast case

Motiur Rahman MontuPolice have arrested a local BNP leader in connection with a crude bomb blast case in Rajshahi.
Senior Assistant Commissioner (Sadar) of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Iftekhar Alam has said that BNP’s Rajshahi district unit general secretary Motiur Rahman Montu has been arrested at around 2am on Sunday.
“We arrested him from his house,” he said.
Montu will be produced before the court later in the day” he added.
On July 17, unidentified assailants were hurled crude bombs in a gathering of BNP candidate Bulbul in city’s Sagorpara section leaving five injured. A case was filed with city’s Boalia police under the Explosives Act against eight people.
