Three members of a family have been killed and three others injured following an ambulance's gas cylinder explosion in Chattogram.

The incident took place at Chaturi Chowmuhuni area under Anwara upazila around 2:30 pm on Thursday (Oct 17).

Confirming the matter, Anwara police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Dulal Mahmud said a man and a woman were killed in the explosion.

The ambulance was hired from Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for going to Banshkhali upazila of the district, added the OC.

When the ambulance reached Chatori Choumohony, the gas cylinder exploded with a big bang killing two on the spot, the OC said.

The deceased were from the same family, he added.
