Four held after man kidnapped by lover

Police arrested four people in this connection. They are: Monju Sheikh, 50, Ruhul Amin Gazi, 45, Asiya Begum, 32, and Naznin, 22, of Labonchara in the city.
According to police, Yeamin Sheikh, 28, of Rampal upazila in Bagerhat, developed a relationship with Naznin, a resident of Labonchara, for over a month.
He was kidnapped on Wednesday morning when he went to meet with his lover at her house in Labonchara. Upon his arrival on that fateful Wednesday morning, Naznin took him to an abandoned room and tortured him with the help of her cohorts and demanded a ransom from his family.
Khulna Metropolitan Police Additional Deputy Commissioner (media) Md Moniruzzaman Mithu said: “Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a drive and arrested Ruhul, Asiya, and Naznin around 10:20pm from the Darogar Lease area when they went there to collect the ransom money.”
Later, based on information from the arrested, police rescued Yeamin in the evening from an abandoned room of Mohammadia Amtola Mohila Madrasa, he added.
A case was filed with Labonchara police station in this connection, he also said.
