Police have arrested eight Rohingyas from Goalanda Bus Terminal area at Goalanda upazila of Rajbari.

The arrestees are –Nure Kalema, Minara Begum, Zohura, Khushnama Begum, Rashida, Rashid Ullah, Kamal, and Mir Zafar.

All of them were registered at Kutupalong Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar.

The officer in Charge of Goalanda Police Station said they boarded a Satkhira-bound bus of Eagle Paribahan from Dhaka. They were forced to get down from the bus at Padma intersection of the upazilla.

Later, police detained them after interrogation.

Bangladesh is currently hosting more than 1.1 million Rohingyas. Most of them fled there from their homeland in Myanmar’s Rakhine State after the military launched a brutal offensive against them in late August 2017.
