The incident took place at Kushla Nesaria Senior Fazil Madrasa on Wednesday (Oct 17).

Agitated students said the madrasa’s Principal Mohammad Baker Hossain suddenly entered their exam hall during their Bangla test and used scissors to cut their hair. The students then protested and walked out of their examination hall.

However, the principal also allegedly threatened the students to not allow them to fill their board examination forms if they boycott the exams. Later, teachers convinced the students to go back and finish their exams.

Principal Mohammad Baker Hossain said: “I had asked the students to cut their hair properly the day earlier. I cut their hair to teach them a moral lesson as they failed to comply with my orders.”

“However, it is not true that I threatened the students to not allow them to fill their board examination forms,” he added.

Meanwhile, Upazila Nirbahi Officer SM Mahfuzur Rahman said: “The matter will be investigated. If found true, action will be taken the principal as per existing laws.”
