At least 25 people were injured in Jhenaidah as two factions of ruling Awami League locked into a clash in Shailkupa Upazila, police said.
A Shailkupa police circle official Tarek Al Mehedi said that supporters of AL, led by Azizur Rahman and Afzal Hossain had a long-lasting feud over establishing dominance in the area.
On Jul 1, they locked into a clash that left 3 people injured and 20 houses damaged.
On Saturday, both group armed with locally-made sharpen weapons swept into each other again leaving 25 injured, Mehedi said.
On information, police rushed in, took control of the situation and sent the injured to the hospital.
Additional forces were deployed to avoid the further untoward situation.
