Police have arrested three Jamaat-e-Islami activists from Charghat Upazila in Rajshahi on Saturday (July 7).
The arrestees are Abdur Rashid, 63, Nurul Huda, 45 and Ahsanul Banna, 20. All are local Jamat activists, said Rajshahi Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Abdur Razzak.
Razzak said, “Acting on a tip off, police conducted raid at Upazila’s Borboria area and held Abdur Rashid, Nurul Huda and Ahsanul Banna. Petrol bombs and crude bombs were seized during the raid.”
Police have filed a case under Arms and Explosives Act over the detainees.
