A man has died in a road accident in Tarai area of Tangail’s Bhuapur on the Bhuapur-Tarakandi road.

The deceased has been identified as Abdul Mannan, 62, resident of Pingna village in Jamalpur’s Sharishabari.

Local people said that the accident occurred after a microbus collided with a CNG‑run auto-rickshaw on the road on Friday (Aug 16) afternoon.

Mannan was on his way to Dhaka with his daughter and son-in-law.  

Four people who were injured in the accident were taken to Bhuapur Health Complex where doctors on duty declared Mannan dead.

Mannan’s daughter and son-in-law have been shifted to Tangail General Hospital for better treatment.

Bhuapur police station Officer in Charge (OC) Rashidul Islam said that a police team had been sent to the accident spot.
