'Shootout' kills one in Sirajganj

ShootoutA 'drug dealer' named Shahin Sheikh, 35, was killed in a shootout with members of the police intelligence wing in Sirajganj on Sunday.
The incident took place near Raipur's railway station in the municipality around 2:15am, police sources said.
Acting on a tip-off Detective Police (DB) conducted a raid the Raipur railway station area. Shahin and his cohorts opened fire sensing the presence of the police. A gun battle triggered after the lawmen had fired in reply, police said.
Shahin got bullet injuries during the fight and declared dead by the doctors after being taken to the Sirajganj government hospital, district police also said.
Sirajganj Additional Superintendent of Police Abu Yusuf said that Superintendent of Police Miraj Uddin Ahmed will provide the details of the incident in a press conference on Monday.
Three policemen were injured in the incident.
Some Yaba tablets, a foreign made pistol were found from the scene.
