Police have recovered the dead body of a housewife from the family’s rented house in Bandarban.

The body of the deceased, identified as Marjina Akter, 25, was found hanging from the ceiling on Saturday (Feb 23) night, said Bandarban Sadar police OC Md Shahidul Islam.

According to the locals and police sources, Marjina used to live her husband in a rented house at the New Gulshan area. On Saturday, Marjina committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling.

Previously she tried to commit suicide a few times, say locals.

OC Islam said the husband of the deceased; Omar Faruk has been brought in for questioning.

“The body has been sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy,” added Islam.
