Two persons riding a motorcycle have been killed in Narayaganj when they were hit by a Truck, says police.

The incident, reported around 2am on Saturday (Feb 15) at the Dhaka-Sylhet Highways in Rupganj Upazila, also left another injured.

The deceased, identified as Hridoy, 24 and Sharmin, 17 and the injured, identified as Akhi Akther, were all dancers in profession, said Kachpur Highway police OC Kaiyum Ali Sarder.

Akhi Akhter said, they were returning to Dhaka on Hridoy’s motorbike from a dance program in Narsingdi.

A soil-laden truck hit the motorbike in front of Onupom Garments at Akhaubo area killing Sharmin and Hridoy on the spot, added Akhi, who was severely injured.

OC Sarder said that they recovered the bodied from the scene and sent the injured to a hospital.

“The bodies were later handed over to the families,” said Sarder adding that the killer truck was seized.
