Stage set for 100 yaba godfathers, dealers to surrender

A total of 101 yaba godfathers and dealers are set to surrender on Saturday (Feb 16) at a formal event, organised in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar.

The ceremony will be held at the Teknaf Pilot School where the yaba dealers will surrender in presence of the Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.

District police have already taken all preparations ahead of the programme including setting up a big stage for the ceremony and seating arrangements for a large audience.

Inspector General of Police Md Javed Patwary is also expected to attend the surrender programme.

A police official, requesting to go unnamed said, “The godfathers and dealers have been kept at a safe house under police custody.”

He also said that following the surrendering they will be sent to Cox’s Bazar District Jail.
