The Detective Branch of police has arrested Khulna Jamaat Amir Mawlana Abul Kalam Azad on Saturday (Oct 27) from a Dhaka bound bus.
There are currently at least three cases of violence against him; said Khulna Metropolitan Assistant Deputy Commissioner and media wing chief Sonali Sen.
She added that the details will be provided after further investigations.
Metropolitan Jammat Secretary Shah Alam said that there were 13 cases against Azad. He was acquitted in two of those cases while he was out on bail in 11 of them.
There were no recent warrants against him, he added.
