Police in Gazipur have recovered the throat-slit bodies of a woman and a madrasa student on Tuesday morning.

The victims are identified as Mahmuda Akhtar, 25, wife of Ibrahim Khalil, director of Huffazul Quran Madrasa in city’s Chandana area and Mamun, 7, a student of the madrasa.

Gazipur Metropolitan police commissioner, YM Belalur Rahman, said, “Ibrahim Khalil and his wife used to live inside the madrasa.

Ibrahim spotted the bodies after returning home following Fazar prayers and informed the police.

“Investigation has started over the killings taking into consideration a few issues and the facts will be revealed soon,” he added.
