Three bodies found after Pabna boat capsize

A diving squad has recovered the bodies of three people who had gone missing after a boat capsized in the Chalan Beel area of Pabna’s Chatmohar. Two others are still missing.
Bodies of three people who had gone a missing after a boat sank in the Chalan Beel in Pabna’s Chatmohar have been recovered while two others are still missing.
The victims were identified as Momtaz Pervin Sheuli, 45, wife of the Scientific Officer Billal Hossain Goni of Ishwardi Regional Agricultural Research Station, Shahanz Pervin Parul, wife of columnist Mosharraf Hossain Musa and one Sadia Khatun.
The bodies and the boat were recovered on Saturday noon, said the chief of the diving squad Md Nurunnabi.
The two others missing are Billal Hossain Goni and Rafiqul Islam Swapan Biswas.
Five people went missing after a boat sank in the Chalan Beel in Handial Paikpara area around 7pm on Friday.
Following the incident, a team of divers from Rajshahi launched a rescue operation around 11:50pm in the area.
Sumon, the boatman, he was hired by the victims to roam in the waterbody on his boat, which at one point of time overturned after the sail broke.
Locals rushed to the scene and rescued some of the travelers. Some passengers swam ashore but, the five drowned with the boat, said Acting Station Master of Chatmohar Fire Service Nazrul Islam.
Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Taposh Kumar Paul said that fire service and locals continued the rescue operation and the wounded were taken to the Chatmohar government hospital.
