Four killed in Netrokona bus-autorickshaw crashAt least four people have died in Netrokona after a bus and an autorickshaw collided head-on.
Police said at least three others were injured in the accident reported Saturday afternoon on a local highway in Kendua Upazila.
Kendua police OC Emarat Hossain Gazi said that the Mymensingh-bound bus collided with the CNG-run autorickshaw around 3pm at the Upazila’s Maska Bazar area.
“The crash left the people travelling on the CNG severely injured. Locals rushed them to the Upazila Health Complex, where four were declared dead,” he said.
The dead victims have been identified as Sharif, 20, Nazir Uddin, 27, Murad, 18, and the autorickshaw driver Jamal Mia.
Three people have been sent to the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital with critical injuries sustained during the crash.
Police have seized the bus, but the driver managed to flee the scene, said OC Gazi.
