A woman and her two children were found dead at her home in Habiganj on Friday night, police says.
The victims were identified as Hadisa Begum, 24, and her 2- year-old daughter Meem Akter and 7-month old son Mozahid Mia. Hadisa’s husband Mojibur Rahman Mojid is reportedly missing since the incident.
Police said that Hadisa’s body was found with ropes tangled around her neck while her children’s were found with their throats slit.
The bodies were recovered around 1am from the victim’s home in Madhabpur and sent to Habiganj Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
It initially appeared that the woman may have killed her children before committing suicide.
However, relatives and locals suspect her husband Mojibur Rahman Majid, who has been missing since the incident, behind the killings.
Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police SM Raju Ahmed said that police is investigating into the matter.
