Ruling Awami League leader Obaidul Quader says the only natural thing to do when being attacked, is to confront.
Speaking to the media on Sunday over attack on the party chief’s Dhanmondi offices the previous day, he said, “What to do when someone approaches to the Awami League offices with firing guns? Greet with kisses or to confront with force?”
Scores were injured on Saturday after a group of student protesters marched towards the party offices on Dhanmondi Road 3/A after rumours spread that their fellows were being held there.
Claiming that a violent plot was developing around the student movement, AL General Secretary Quader said, “It is now clear that an evil force is on to reap political benefits out of the non-political campaign.”
According to the senior Awami League leader the BNP and its allies have infiltrated the peaceful protests.
Referring to the viral audio clip of BNP leader’s conversation, he said, “BNP’s Amir Khasru was partr of the conspiracy to bring in people from Cumilla. There were some people aged between 35 and 40 years, wearing school or college uniforms, among the protesters.”
