Jatiya Party Chairman and Special Envoy to the PM HM Ershad.Supporting the on-going demonstration for safe roads, Jatiya Party (JP) chairman Hussain Mohammad Ershad urged Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to come up with effective measures.
“The transport workers has held the nation hostage, it can’t go any longer, if necessary, people will have to find alternative to using public transports,” he said on Saturday.
Speaking at party programme in the city, Ershad, a former military dictator, termed the students apolitical stressing the drivers to abide by the laws.
He also criticized ruling Awami League's student wing Bangladesh Chattra League for launching attacks on the students.
“What is happening in the country now, contradicts with the spirit of Liberation War,” said Ershad, who is the special envoy to the PM Hasain.
