Awami League`s Dhaka South mayor candidate Sheikh Fazle Nur Taposh adressing polls campaign at the capital’s Shantinagar area on Sunday (Jan 12).
The ruling Awami League's Dhaka South mayor candidate Sheikh Fazle Nur Taposh has claimed his campaign has come under attack at the city's RK Mission Road.
“On Saturday (Jan 11), I visited BNP’s mayoral candidate Ishraque Hossain’s residence at RK Mission road … Party activists including local councillor candidate suddenly came under attack while we were returning from there,” said Taposh.
His remarks came during electioneering at the capital’s Shantinagar area on Sunday (Jan 12).
Describing the attack as 'gross incident', Taposh, “We will report to the returning officer and will go for a formal complaint if it happens again."
Stressing harmonious politics, Taposh said, “We expect that we will participate [in upcoming Dhaka City polls] altogether.”
Taposh kicked off his polls campaign on Friday (Jan10) for the Dhaka South City Corporation election slated for Jan 30.
