Another 32 AL leaders in party central committee

Ruling Awami League (AL) has inducted another 32 leaders in its 81-member central working committee.
Obaidul Quader, who has been re-elected as AL general secretary recently, made the announcement at a media briefing at the party chief and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Dhanmondi political offices in Dhaka on Thursday (Dec 26).
Afzal Hossain and Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel have been made as two of three organising secretaries. Begum Waseqa Ayesha Khan as finance secretary, Dr Selim Mahmud as information and research secretary, Habibur Rahman Siraz as labour and employment affairs secretary, Sayem Khan as deputy office secretary, Aminul Islam Amin as deputy publications secretary.
The new members of the executive committee are Abul Hasnat Abdullah, Mofazzal Hossain Chowhdury Maya, Quamrul Islam, Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, KM Jahangir, Nurul Islam Thandu, Badaruddin Ahmed Kamran, Dipangkar Talukder, Amirul Alam Milon, Akhter Jahan, Dr Mushfique, Riazul Kabir Kausar, Merina Jaman Kabita, Parvin Jaman Kalpana, Hosne Ara Lutfa Dalia, Advocate Safura Khatun, Advocate Sanjida Khanom, Anwar Hossain, Anisur Rahman, Sahabuddin Farazi, Iqbal Hossain Apu, Golam Rabbani Chinu, Marufa Akhter Popy, Remand Areng and Gloria Sarker Jharna.
On Dec 21, Hasina was re-elected as AL president and Quader as general secretary in the party's 21st national council held in Dhaka.
On the day, names of 42 members of the full central committee were unveiled.
With Thursday's announcement, seven more posts still remain vacant.
A joint meeting of the AL central committee and its advisory council would be held o in Gopalgnaj's Tungipara on Jan 3, said Quader, who is also the road transport minister.
