Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-JASAD President Hasanul Haq Inu has called to drive out BNP and its ally Islamist Jamaat-e-Islami from Bangladesh's politics permanently.
"The pro-Pakistanis and patrons of communalism, fundamentalism, militancy and terrorism Jamaat-BNP have to be ousted from the politics [of Bangladesh] forever. There is no opportunity to spare these anti-state forces on the pretext of saving democracy and protecting human rights," he told the national conference of the party's front body Jatiya Juba Jote in Dhaka on Saturday (Dec 7).
Inu, who the chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Ministry, said his call for ousting BNP and Jamaat came not as the outcome of a political vendetta rather it's a "political reality."
The veteran politician said that ill-efforts to unsettle all settled issues on the history of Bangladesh including the 1971 Liberation War must be prevented to keep political stability in the country.
"Controversy on the history and spirit of the Liberation War must be stopped," Inu added.
Presided over by Jubo Jote President Rokonuzzaman Rokon, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal General Secretary Shirin Akter, Executive President Robiul Islam and Standing Committee Member Prof Anwar Hossain spoke on the occasion.
Convener of the conference preparatory council Mirza MD Anwarul Haque delivered the welcome speech while Jubo Jote General Secretary Shariful Kabir Shwapan moderated the programme.
